Well winter is here!!!!  I have a gift box that I made, I just love to make my own boxes.  I entered this box into a challenge at Turtle Soup and here is my box:

I just love this candy cane paper, It is from My Minds Eye and is very thick great for making boxes.  This box is 7x7 and 2.5" in depth.

 

 

I got all the dimension's for this box on youtube, then I scored on my scoring pad.

 

 

Then you cut in on all 4 corners, just to the score line.

 

 

On the right side of each tab, I placed an x in adhesive tape.

 

 

Just fold each tab and attach to the ends.

 

 

I then cut a thick piece of kraft paper for the bottom of my box.  This gives a sturdier bottom to the box.

 

 

I used this punch board to make my bow.

 

 

I placed a brad that I had ( how great it matched my paper) in the center of the bow.  Then I dressed it up with, beads, tag and some red mesh and ribbon.  Just love how it came out. I also placed ribbon around the outside of the cover.
